Junior High jitters

Who are we kidding, look at her she looks ready to go and conquer the world.  New school clothes, good friends and a lot of confidence.  It is so good to see her comfortable in a new environment.  Emma was able to help Whitney get a good feel for the school and help her find all of her classes and even how to open a school locker.  It is really nice to have an older sibling to help with the new school jitters.   Middle school has it's challenges, that we remember all too well. She is handling the 7 periods and doing well with her homework, now all we need to work on is getting up and not having to run to the bus.  I am so proud of all that she is trying hard to accomplish.  Her grades and her attitude are amazing, two things that are sometimes hard when we are growing up.  Keep up the good work Whitney !!!

Emma's first surgery and hopefully her last

The time came for Emma to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed, and boy was she a nervous wreck.  Weeks leading to the surgery she was more and more scared. Then comes the night before the surgery she could not sleep and was so worried about the needle going into her arm, not so much about the removal of the teeth she was worried about an IV.  All she remebered was a little prick in her arm, going to sleep, and having dad bringing her back home.  Thankgoodness

Emma was such a trooper!!! We were so impressed with her pain tolerance and how well she did right after the surgery.    She acted so silly coming down from the anethesia, (who know we could of have an you-tube moment) A  lot of sleeping, pain meds, and being lazy were how she spent her last weeks of summer vacation.   Emma wonders how come you have to remove these teeth ?  Dont we all question that.

Third grader --- Lauren 2011

Can you believe that Lauren is in Third Grade?  She is so excited to go to school all by herself, she is the only Lowther this year at Daybreak Elementary, and she is okay with that.  This year is going to be a good one, she has a super nice, positive, loving school teacher that I can't wait to see Lauren reach to new heights academically and improve her social this year with good friends that she is choosing.

Owen

What is not to love seriously!! Cute kid all around -- loved unconditionally!!!

Annual Camping Trip With Friends

Our annual camping/fishing trip with good friends Boyles and Hales. This trip was to Washington Lake in the Unitas and can I say I loved this designated camping spot. Fishing, boating, fires, kids having fun, good adult conversation, and of course good food.  Camping is a lot of work, when you see kids getting along, being outside in nature and with friends it's  worth all the work that is put into it. We can't wait to go again next year, and enjoy the company.

Scout Camp 2011

Kyle has the great honor of working with these Boy Scouts.  I think that they have a good time,  they are going on camps every month and they go to fun places. Here they are swimming in Bear Lake.  All in all these are good kids that come from good parents, and most of them are close to receiving their Eagle.

It's Great to be Eight

Look at my little girl, in her beautiful baptism dress?  Isn't she lovely!!!  Lauren loved every minute of it, the dress, the opportunity to be baptized by her Dad, all the attention, and feeling like a princess and did I mention the beautiful dress.  As a parent you can't help but brag a little when your child is so happy.
The day was so special for all of us.  Lauren wanted to get dressed as soon as she awoke. Unfortunately she was the last one dressed, for obvious reasons,  Lauren was the only one from our ward to be baptized, and we had a full room, to witness this special occasion. Dad loves to be able to perform this special ordinance for his children, especially his last girl.
Her sisters were so excited to share with her this special day, and Owen is just old enough to see it in his future.  Emma played the closing song, and Whitney lead the music. Another moment in our family life that makes us so happy for our children and the choices that they are making.
It was a cold and snowy day,  but you couldn't tell from the sweet spirit and the love that was shown.  Thank you to our family who traveled to support Lauren and our family.  We are thankful that we have family who our kids can look up to.
Lauren you have a sweet spirit and a kind heart.  We love you so much, you make us all try to be a little better in our lives.
